The Ethics of the Pros and Cons of Plastic Surgery in Our World

Over 333,000 people 18 years and younger had plastic surgery in 2005. With this statistic, many teens are using plastic surgery just to fit in with the crowd or they just use it in order to stand out. Plastic surgery at such a young age may result in serious health issues in the future and may cause an addition for plastic surgery. In our world, plastic surgery is an important issue in today’s society, especially for young for young people who may not use it appropriately. The decision for plastic surgery is usually used for two thinks like health reasons or to just look the best you can which can take your body over.
Many people today are using plastic surgery when it’s not needed and this could allow them to get injured because there are many risks of plastic surgery. Most people in the United States view the use of plastic surgery in many perspectives. Some people see it has people who are spoiled, wasteful, and contain no self-confidence with in their body. Others may see plastic surgery as a serious issue meaning it is foe health conditions. So yes, there are many views on plastic surgery in our world and its not just a joke. It is a serious risk in our society and the procedure of plastic surgery can allow the stretching of the skin, eternal bleeding, the malfunction of limbs, diabetes, low self-esteem, and many more. These reasons are usually the reasons that lead into the use of plastic surgery just for looks. Most teens use plastic surgery for the wrong reasons. Young teens feel they need it only to impress someone rather than if they actually need it. For example young celebrity teens usually feel very self conscious and feel that physically changing their look will solve their problems. They don’t often think before their actions and the work done on them sometimes won’t turn out the way that they wanted it to, says Judy Peres. Celebrity teens use plastic surgery as a depressant thinking that it will make them feel better and they don’t even realize that this can be an issue. This can result into an addiction for people thinking that their body needs to be perfect when really nothing can be perfect. This only causes them to judge their body more often.
Not only is plastic surgery always bad and creates a perspective on someone. It also is used for the right reasons. Plastic surgery is often done for the right reasons and can be done properly. The use of Plastic surgery doesn’t just mean that plastic is always done in the procedure, says Natalie Kita. There are many useful and different techniques that can be done when dealing with plastic surgery. An example of a technique used without using plastic is lasers for clearing or getting away birthmarks. Many people are born with physical issues that can affect their life so plastic surgery is often recommended to certain people. Also, plastic surgery doesn’t just change the appearance or look of people, but it also can help a person’s ability to function, says Judy Peres.

The Glass Castle post 5

Jeannette’s dad loses his job at the Gypsum mine after getting into an argument with the foreman. This caused Jeannette and her family to loose all of their money. Jeannette then started to go to school and she said it wasn’t too bad. But kids gave her weird looks all the time. One day after Jeannette was done with school four Mexican girls followed her home and jumped her in an ally way. Jeannette was beaten up pretty bad and when Jeannette got home her dad was proud of her getting into I fight. I was shocked when I read that Jeannette’s dad encouraged her to fight, and while she was only in the first grade! The next day the same Mexican girls were in the ally way but this time Jeannette’s brother Brian was with her. But nothing changed and Brian was jumped also but the odd thing was that Jeannette picked up a pretty big rock and smashed it on one of the girls head. For me I could never do that and it showed that Jeannette doesn’t use her head that well because that could have killed the girl. I think that she takes this kind of stuff after her parents and that her parents don’t usually tell their kids what is right and what is wrong.

The Glass Castle

In The Glass Castle the next chapter that I read started out with Jeannette telling the Readers that her mom and dad didn’t let her believe in Santa Claus. I find that really strange because the kids are so young and at that age your imagination is so much fun to have and Santa Claus is what pumps you up for the holidays. Jeannette’s mom and dads excuse for this weird reason was because they couldn’t afford expensive presents, and they didn’t want their kids to think that they weren’t as good as other kids, who on Christmas, found all sorts of fancy and expensive presents under their tree. So Jeannette’s parents spoiled the tale of Santa Claus and told them that everything wasn’t real. They told Jeannette that the so called Elves didn’t actually make or create the toys and told them that on all of the toys stood a label saying, “made in Japan”. This shows that Jeannette’s parents are very overprotective of their kids and that they want them to make them feel as good as they can when they really don’t. Jeannette’s parents seem very odd to me and I am concerned that later on in the book something really strange will happen to Jeannette because of her parents foolish actions.

The Glass Castle post 3

The next couple chapters that I read from the Glass Castle, Jeannette’s dad Whole up the whole family in the middle of the night and randomly told them to get all of their staff because they’re leaving. The weird thing is that he won’t tell them why they’re leaving or where they’re going. The more I read the weirder the dad gets and he seems like he has problems of some sort. So hopefully I find out what is wrong with him. So then Jeannette’s family randomly stops the car in a desert. Jeannette’s dad then starts to tell them that they were eventually going to be rich once they reached the exciting place. In the next chapter Jeannette over hears her parents talking about how people are after them. But Jeannette didn’t find out whom. Jeannette’s family kept traveling into tiny dusty mining towns and Jeannette’s dad eventually got jobs like electricians or and engineer in a gypsum or copper mine. It seemed like the more desolated and isolated the place that they lived in was, the more Jeannette’s mom and dad like it. So far I really like this book and I am very excited to read more because as I get farther into the book, the more interesting it gets and it seems like there is never a dull or boring part. The book just keeps pulling me in to read more.

The Glass Castle post 2

After the first couple chapters I was very intrigued with the book and I wanted to keep reading. What I have learned so far shows me that her parents are not good role models and seem to not be interested in what is best for Jeannette. So after Jeannette returns from the hospital I was surprised to read that her parents let her keep cooking hot dogs with out their supervision. A quote that supports this that I liked was, “Good for you,” Mom said when she saw me cooking. “You’ve got to get right back in the saddle. You can’t live in fear of something as basic as fire.” This quote tells me that her parents are different from other parents and that their children’s safety isn’t the most important thing to them. Also just to remind you, she is still only four years old. Her dad then starts to eventually show her fire tricks that are very dangerous for a young child. He teaches her how to pass her finger through a flame and Jeannette started to do this all of the time. She then started to steal matches from her dad and she would go behind the garage and light them. Whenever they would go out or get to hot on her fingers she would curse that she picked up from her dad. All of these incidents prove and show that her parents are not what I would consider mature and effective parents.

The Glass Castle post 1

So far The Glass Castle is very interesting and caught my attention immediately. Jeannette was raised in a southern Arizona town when she was three years old with her odd parents, her brother and her dog. The book starts out when she is old and she sees her mother searching through a dumpster for food which shows that her parents are struggling. Jeannette then meets with her mother to talk and to catch up with each other. This then leads to her remembering of when she was a child and what her life was like when she was living with her family. Her parents are very over protective of her which to me is a bad thing because this causing argument with others and arguments of what she can and cannot do which creates a tension between her parents and others. The next chapter begins with her making hot dogs at the age of three. But the oddest thing about this is that her parents aren’t even watching over her! Jeannette eventually catches on fire and is immediately sent to the hospital with serious burns. This again shows that she experienced a childhood full of hardships and I think this was only one of the many traumas that she would have to overcome.

The Glass Castle

The book that I am going to read is called The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. I chose this book because both of my parents have read it and they recommend me to do the same. I am looking forward to read this book and I am very excited.

The Lost World

Ever since I was little I have always been interested in Jurassic Park. I would watch all of the movies, buy all of the action figures, I would pretend I was in the movies, and I would even play the Lost World video game. I got the Lost World video game when I was in like first grade and from the very beginning I loved it. In the game you get to experience all of the different kinds of dinosaurs and even towards the end of the game, you get to be an actual human fighting against the fierce dinosaurs. The game is very entertaining and also is a challenge which is why I have never beaten the game. So now I am working on beating the game because I can’t wait to see what the outcome is. So again, like Heart of Darkness and Goosebumps, my friends and I are going to try to beat the game. We haven’t started the game yet but we will for sure this weekend. I just recently found the game in my basement and luckily it is still in good shape. So I put the game into my PS2 system and got a feel for the game and it brought back a lot of memories from when I was little playing the game. It will be a challenge but we are up for it.

Goosebumps

When I was in like kindergarten I had a very sweet game called Goosebumps “Escape from Horror Land.” This was right around the same time I had played Heart of Darkness. I have no idea how I got the game but I somehow ran into it and just started playing. This again was another very hard and scary game like Heart of Darkness but was also so different because whenever I play the game I get in the mood for Halloween. Probably because of all the werewolves, skeletons, vampires, and pumpkins that appear in the game. It wasn’t just me who played the game, it was my brother and my sister too that helped me try to beat it. At times we were so into it that we would be literally yelling at the screen. We also would spend hours and hours on it even if we only got to the next level which wasn’t a big accomplishment at all considering how hard it was. The game was about three kids who get tickets to horror land and the tickets are haunted. Before they new it the ticket led them to a very scary and unsafe place called Horror Land. In order for them to get back they have to go through huge drooling werewolves, blood sucking vampires, and even the craziest mummies. This game took weeks to beat and just like Heart of Darkness my friends and I get together each year before Halloween just to play it.

Heart of Darkness

Heart of Darkness is by far the best game that I have ever played. It all started when I was in Kindergarten and I got this random game that I picked out at the store. I couldn’t resist walking out of the store because of how cool the game looked and the name itself gave me the chills. So I of course got the game and I played it right away. I played the game every day and after about three weeks I had beaten the game. It had been the hardest game that I have ever played. Now I’m not much of a video game type of a guy but this game was different. I loved it! If you’re wondering what the game is about, it takes place with a boy named Andy and he has a dog as his best friend named Whisky. One day at the park Whisky and Andy are just relaxing in the sun and then suddenly, out of nowhere, something captures Whisky from the sky and brings the dog to a different and very strange world. Andy then takes a space ship that he had created himself and goes into the new world in order to find his dog. Andy has to go through weird and scary creatures in order to reach Whisky.
Just about a week ago my friends and I found the game that hasn’t been touched for years and started to play it. We are so into it and it’s just so intense. I have no idea how I beat the game while I was in kindergarten. We are about half way done and we have just reached the castle where Whisky is locked away. We hope to beat the game and I strongly recommend that you should get into it because the game has captured me.

The Amazing Holiday of Halloween

One of my favorite holidays is Halloween. I love the holiday Halloween because not only do you get candy, but also you get to experience the great season and the nice cool weather. I also like how you can dress up and pretend you are someone you are really not. Another great thing about Halloween is that you get to watch all of the scary shows that they play on television. The reason why I like this is because it brings back memories of the times when I used to watch shows like the Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark. Every year during Halloween my brother and sisters always get together to carve pumpkins. Oh and I also my brother and I always watch Hocus Pocus. We have been doing this every year since we were little kids. Another good thing about Halloween is that you get scare people and you can’t get in trouble for it. Halloween is full of excitement that you normally wouldn’t experience on a normal daily basis. It’s the one night where I can change my personality and leave the normal light behind. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I hope everyone can enjoy the life in the dark.

My Soccer Team

During the summer my friends and I randomly started to play pick up soccer. Almost everyday we would call each other up and we would play it for the majority of the day. When the summer came to an end, we couldn’t find that much time to play because of all the homework, after school activities, and other sports we had to focus on. Finally we found a solution by creating an Intramural Soccer Team. Our team name is “Kick Some Balls and we play at least once a week after school at three thirty. The first day that the Intramural Soccer League started, we only played practice games. Most of our players were missing because of other after school activities but our team did a decent job for the amount of guys we had. Today the actual season started and the games counted towards our record so it was very important to win and do good in order to make the playoffs. Only three off our guys showed up so it wasn’t looking very good for us but we then found out that only one person from the other team showed up. So by the other team not showing up we ended up winning off of a forfeit. We also still got to play another practice game which was also good because we could get prepared for our next game. So hopefully more of our teammates will show up and hopefully we can make the playoffs.

The Wedding

About a week ago I went to my cousins wedding. I was very excited about this because I love weddings and I think that they are very fun. The service was really nice meaning it wasn’t too long and wasn’t to short. It was just right. I really liked the music they had at the service because it was very peaceful and it seemed to fit the service just right. After the service we went to the reception which was right on Lake Minnetonka. When we got to the reception I realized how hungry I was. All they had at that point was some snacks and appetizers because they were getting ready for the dinner. So here I am, all over the fruit while others are socializing with relatives they haven’t seen in awhile. Now that I look on this I probably looked like an idiot going crazy on all of the food. Finally they let people start sitting down so we could fill our stomachs up. I didn’t eat that much because of all the other food I ate before but the meal was still very delicious. I then began to think about dancing because that is my favorite part of weddings. After some speeches and comments the band started and before I knew it I was off dancing. I literally danced for three hours and by that time it was twelve o clock A.M. I was so exhausted and I was ready to leave to go to bed. When I got home and got in my soft bed I realized that that wedding was one of the best weddings that I had ever been to.

My Fantasy Football Team

This is my first year in a fantasy football league. I am in this league with my friends and there is money on the line. About a month ago we all got together and drafted our players. But during the first two rounds our computers froze allowing us to be on auto pick which wasn’t good. We were all upset because we dint get a chance to pick the guys we wanted too. But after the second round the computer was back to normal and we got to pick the rest of our players without the computers help. About two weeks later I had my first game and it was against my twin brother. I had some pretty solid guys on my team but my quarterback was Donovan Mcnabb. I don’t mind Donovan Mcnabb as a player but most guys thought that I wasn’t going to do very well with him as a quarterback compared to what other guys have. But I ended up doing just fine and so did Donovan Mcnabb. I beat my brother by about twenty points and I was off to a good start. About a week after that I had my next game against one of my friends. His team looked very good and his team compared to mine was a lot better. The game I watched was the Eagles against the Cowboys and Donovan Mcnabb is on the Eagles so I got to watch my quarterback play. On the Cowboys my opponent had a great wide receiver named Terrell Owens. I for sure thought that I was going to lose after I saw Terrell score two back to back touchdowns. Also my opponent had the Cowboys special teams and they scored a touchdown off the kick return. But again I ended up winning by about forty points. My fantasy team is looking very good so far considering that I am 2 and 0. I can’t wait to see how my team does in the future.

I am expected to comment on texts that I am viewing in the world around me. These might include, but are not limited to: books, magazines, movies, internet articles, television shows, trips to museums, etc. etc. etc. Each post should be at least 200 words. Each weekly post is due by 8am on that Wednesday. Therefore, Q1 due dates are 9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, and 10/29. That makes for a total of 7 posts this first quarter. Journey I Intend to Take

If I could go on any journey in the world, I would want to go on a road trip(only take plane to states that I cant get to from car) to every state. I think it would be fun because I would get to expirience how each state is different from eachother. It would get really hard and stressfull though because of all of the driving. But the state that I would want to go visit the most is Hawaii. I would want to go to Hawaii the most because I have never been there before and it seems very beautiful. I know that this journey would cause alot of problems but thats what makes the journey interesting.
