The Glass Castle
Throughout the book I am noticing that Jeannette’s dad is starting to become more threatening towards Jeannette and the rest of her family, especially Jeannette’s mom. Jeannette’s dad is also using many more swear words as Jeannette and her brother start to mature. But still they are still only six and ten years old. From reading this book makes me think about how lucky I am to have a well rounded family where there is no fighting going on. Jeannette hasn’t really noticed how strange her parents are and how bad they are as role models but I have been noticing that as she gets older throughout the book, she is becoming more aware of her parents actions. Jeannette feels of though her parents are so wonderful and the sad thing is, is that she is still too young to notice which is teaching her the wrong things in life. As you grow older in life you learn many new things from many different people, but your parents are usually the people who teach you the most and give you the most advice in life. I am anxious to see Jeannette keep maturing through the book. I wonder if she will get into any serious trouble because I am noticing her being more of a trouble maker.
